St. Georges Day Parade, Sevenoaks
Sunday 22nd April 2012 2pm – 4.15pm
St George is the Patron Saint of Scouting and of England
We would like to invite all Beavers, Cubs and Scouts to attend our annual St. Georges Day parade through Sevenoaks high street. The parade will consist of Scout Groups from all over the District. Each Group will be carrying their section flags – beaver, cub and scout flags.
Please assemble no later than 2pm in the car park by Sevenoaks library.
Your son/daughter will need to be in full smart uniform, including black shoes. If your child does not have specific Scout trousers we suggest either a navy blue or dark school trousers. We will be on full public view and we would like to show what a smart & respectable Scout Group we are.
We will parade through the high street St Nicholas Church where a short service will take place. There will be a collection during the service, please give your child a few pennies to put in the collection.
Following the service the parade will form up again and parade back to the library car park.
We had a fairly good turn out last year, I hope everyone will make an extra special effort to attend this event and improve on our turn-out we had last year. (This is one of those two events where we expect everyone to attend – the other being Remembrance Sunday).
I look forward to seeing on Sunday 22nd April. Please put the date in your diary.

p.s. Please let your leader know if your son/ daughter is UNABLE to attend.
